February 2024: Nick Strong Foundation Updates
February has been one of our most successful months for fundraising. We could not have gotten this far without the help of all of you! We are so happy to see others in the community joining us in our fight and coming up with ways to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer.

Community Events:
Our Live, Love, Run Fundraising event on February 9th was a HUGE success thanks to all of you who donated, volunteered, supported or showed up.
We raised just over $30,000 which is shared between Boston Children’s Hospital Miles for Miracles and the Nick Strong Foundation. A special thank you to Fadwah Chiklis and her team for donating and constructing all of the amazing decor at the event, to Powerplay, the band that donated their entire set that night to us, Dave Bertoldi and Kathy Bogigian for hosting Musical Bingo and to all our friends who helped pull it all together.
So many of you continue to dedicate your time, energy and effort to our fight and we are forever grateful.

Franklin High School Basketball coach, CJ Neely and the Basketball Boosters held their First Annual Nick Gaspar Basketball Invitational on February 19th- 20th. Boys varsity basketball teams from Franklin, Xaverian Brothers, New Bedford and Natick High School came to Franklin to support the cause and compete in a 2 day tournament. Franklin boys came out with the championship win!

PT Color Market created special Valentine’s Day Nick Strong earrings and 100% of the sales went directly to the foundation, which was $1400.00.
Upcoming Events:
Save the Date for our first annual Nick Strong Foundation Golf Tournament on Monday, June 17th at New England Country Club in Bellingham.
Additional details will be available next month including registration information for each foursome. We will also have an option to register as an individual and we will assign you a foursome.
On May 9th at MGM Music Hall in Boston Derek Beaulieu (Gavin’s Dad) will be boxing in Haymakers for Hope Rock-n-Rumble event to raise funds for the Nick Strong Foundation. Gavin is a Franklin fourth grader who was diagnosed with ALL almost two years ago. You can learn more about his story in the link below. There are several local fundraisers to support efforts. On Friday March 29th there will be a fundraiser at the Black Box in Franklin. Tickets are still available, learn more HERE.
Our Mission in Action:
This month we came across a family who needed financial assistance and we were able to donate on behalf of the Nick Strong Foundation.
Please consider donating blood or platelets at Boston Children’s hospital. We will continue to encourage donations, as Nick was a frequent recipient of platelets so we know how important donors are to Children’s hospital. Send photos to Steph.Carroll27@gmail.com to have your donation photo featured in our newsletter!
