COMMUNITY EVENTS:

  • More Pigs Less Cancer pig roast fundraising event took place earlier this month in Franklin, MA in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  The event was a huge success and donated $5,000 to the Nick Strong Foundation.
  • 5k Ladybug took place on October 15th at the Kennedy Elementary School, where Nick attended, and donated 10% of their proceeds to the foundation.  At the beginning of the race they unveiled a memorial plaque in honor of Nick that will stand at the school’s entrance.
  • BAA Half Marathon – Team Nick Strong – on Sunday, November 12th, for the second year, Team Nick Strong will participate in the BAA Half Marathon.  With 43 registered members we are the top fundraising team with almost $48,000 being raised for Dana Farber, which is over $30,000 more than the second place team!  We would love to see you on the course in your best NickStrong gear, course info can be found here

OUR MISSION IN ACTION:

  • Supporting Families touched by Pediatric Cancer – we have supported 4 families to date. Support ranges from financial assistance to gift boxes to brighten their day.  If you know of a family in need, visit the foundation website and fill out the contact form
  • Jackson Lab Visit  – Part of the mission of the foundation is to support institutions focused on the research of germ cell tumors.  Jen and Tim recently toured the Jackson Laboratory in CT and met with Dr.Ching Lau and his team to learn more about their mission. The Jackson Laboratory is an independent non-profit biomedical research institution.  Stay tuned for more to come on this group as a potential partnership.
